Project Management is the process of planning, co-ordinating and managing given resources with the goal of completing a specified objective. A project differs from every day work in that it is a temporary organisation set up to incorporate a change, usually involving cross-functional areas.
A designated project manager will:

Business Analysis is the process of identifying business needs and determining solutions to problems. This is done by means of, interviews, surveys, document & statistical analysis and workflow studies. A Business Analyst acts as a liaison between clients and developers to distinguish requests from needs.

The Project Support role is often incorporated within the role of Project Manager. Project Office can offer support services for administrative functions including:
The Project Assurance function is required to ensure primary stakeholder interests (business, user and supplier) are covered and the project is being conducted appropriately. The assurance role should be undertaken independently of the project and team members.
